RAW was quite the dud before No Mercy, but there were notable things that happened

Braun Strowman and Brock Lensar in a split screen interview
The episode was in memory of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

Jason Jordan comes to the defence of Kurt Angle

RAW General Manager Kurt Angle kicked off the show. He began talking about No Mercy, only to interrupted by the Intercontinental Champion The Miz. He wished The Miz congratulations on being a father, and The Miz refused to accept his wishes.
He complained that for the 2nd PPV in a row, his title wasn't being defended. Kurt then announced a Fatal-4-Way between Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Jason Jordan and Elias to determine his opponent at No Mercy.
The Miz berated Angle for not putting Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel in the match and being bias towards Jordan. He continued to insult the GM before Jordan himself came out and threatened to knock The Miz's teeth down his throat. The Miz didn't pay heed to his threat, and once again took a shot at the GM.
This saw Jordan attack The Miz and then clear The Miztourage from the ring as well. He stood tall, determined.
Backstage, Jordan was racing around furiously and Kurt Angle told him to calm down. Jordan said that it wasn't just The Miz who talked trash about Angle, but people backstage whispering about it as well. Kurt told him that it takes strength to fight back, but even more not to.

Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax

Alexa and Nia faced off for the first time ever
Alexa tried sticking to the ropes and avoiding Nia. Whatever she did try backfired as she was overpowered by the much bigger Nia Jax. Alexa tried walking away and accepting a count-out loss, but Sasha Banks came out and as the champion headed back to the ring, she was met with an unexpected shove by Nia.
After the break, Nia Jax ran into the ring post and Alexa got her down. However, when she attempted to jump from the top turnbuckles, she was caught and hit with a Samoan drop. Nia pinned her clean.

The two babyfaces then attacked Alexa, with Bayley hitting a Bayley-to-Belly on her to put a full stop.

Sheamus & Cesaro vs Gallows & Anderson

Sheamus was talking about nostalgia and destroying nostalgia acts. He and Cesaro took a shot at the Hardy Boyz and then began trashing Ambrose & Rollins, calling them selfish. Their constant trashing brought out Ambrose & Rollins.
The champions trashed Sheamus & Cesaro and this brought out Gallows & Anderson. They called Rollins and Ambrose nerds, which hilariously offended Ambrose. They broke out into a brawl and the champions stood tall.

A scheduled tag team match turned into a triple threat

Rollins tagged himself in and the current champions hounded Sheamus. Ambrose was later tagged in and he was facing off against Anderson & Gallows, who got the better of him.
Later in the match, Gallows & Anderson nearly pinned Rollins with a Magic Killer, but Ambrose broke it up on time. The match was fairly slow paced but got a "This is awesome" chant when they did a double suicide dive on each side.
The finish of the match was when Sheamus tagged himself in. Ambrose hit the Dirty deeds on Karl Anderson but didn't know Sheamus had tagged in. The Celtic Warrior then threw him out of the ring and pinned Anderson.

Curt Hawkins vs Apollo Crews

Curt Hawkins stated that he was on a 114 match losing streak and it would end in the night. Of course, it wasn't going to. Apollo Crews answered his open challenge. Hawkins had Apollo Crews in control for a little while and almost got pinned by Hawkins. However, he unsurprisingly hit his sit out powerbomb for the win. Curt Hawkins' losing streak extends to 115.

The Big Dog didn't have Cena to backfire this week

He called John Cena a massive hypocrite and played a clip from February 2012 where Cena cut a promo about The Rock being in Hollywood and not being present on RAW.

Probab
Probably the best part of the entire show
Enzo Amore came out and began his schtick, beginning to talk about No Mercy. However, Braun Strowman's music hit and he began to squash him like a bug. "Thank you, Strowman" chants began.
As Strowman exited, Neville came out and the two had a tense staredown as they crossed paths. Neville came in the ring and hit the Red Arrow on Enzo, who was already lying flat in the ring.
Neville took the mic and mocked him saying "How you doin'?"
After the match, Enzo was being iced backstage, and when interviewed, he said he would take Neville's title at No Mercy.

Six-pack challenge to face The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at No Mercy

Who became The Miz's next IC title challenger?
Elias went after Jason Jordan, Jeff Hardy went after Curtis Axel while Matt Hardy went after Bo Dallas.
There was a major super-plex spot including all the competitors except Elias. Jeff saved the match after breaking a pin from Elias onto Matt Hardy. Jeff Hardy hit a Twist Of Fate and a Swanton Bomb on Curtis Axel but The Miz broke the pin, wanting one of The Miztourage members to win.
Jason Jordan took advantage of this and hit the elevated neck breaker for the win.
